Comfortable and great looks August 15, 2008
These were my first Johnson and Murphy but not my last!
These felt great right out of the box and soon became my favorite pair.
I've since bought another J&M brand but a different style and these are just a good. Love the fit too.

I already owned a pair of these shoes in brown and couldn't resist the sale on the black. I ordered the wide (I usually don't wear wide) and found them to be extemely comfortable.
They are soft and flexible from the start and my only complaint is that the other shoes they make are so UNcomfortable.

Johnston & Murphy always have high quality shoes well above $100. These shoes fit great, made of high quality materials, and at 1/3 the retail cost, it was a great bargain.
Great looking shoe January 21, 2008

This is a great looking, comfortable shoe that can be used for either dressy casual or business wear. The finishing details on the leather upper look to be really well made. My only complaint is that the shoe "squeaks" a bit when I walk. At this point, I've only worn them twice, so I'm willing to attribute this to breaking-in a pair of new shoes for now. I'll edit the review later if the squeaking continues. Other than that, I'm very pleased with these shoes.
Update 1/30/08: I've worn these shoes another 4 or 5 times now after my original review and the squeaking continues. I'd drop the rating to 3 or 4 stars over this squeaking problem, but the Amazon rating system doesn't allow me to change my original rating. Still great looking shoes, but the squeaking is not good.

These seem to be an overall pretty good shoe.
Pros:
- good looking and stylish
- comfortable, soft and form-fitting
Cons:
- a little heavy
- would expect a larger heel or thicker sole on heel of shoe, gives the shoe a bit of a flat look when viewed from side
