Amazon.com Product Description Embrace a new way of thinking with this set of five eco-friendly reusable polyester shopping bags. These durable, lightweight, and waterproof designer bags display bold retro prints and come rolled up in an easy tote. The snap-close storage tote is small enough to stash in a glove compartment or a medium to large handbag, so it's always handy. Whip out a new bag every time you need one, and forego those wasteful plastic and paper sacks. Every time you shop, you'll be cutting back on clutter, and doing so with eye-catching style.
From the Manufacturer

| Dubbed the best value reusable bag on the market by the Wall Street Journal, and seen carried by the likes of Cameron Diaz and Kyra Sedgwick, Envirosax have revolutionized shopping bags with the perfect combination of eco-friendliness, style, and practicality. Envirosax, the original reusable designer shopping bags, are a funky and practical way to do your part to help the environment by reducing the ecological impact of single-use plastic bag waste whilst looking stylish at the same time. A single Envirosax rolls up to be about the size of a piece of sushi and weighs only 1.4oz (about 40g). Singularly or in a pouch the bags are small enough and light enough to fit easily in your glove box, pocket or purse, so forgetting your green bags won’t be a problem anymore. The graphic series bags roll out to be 19.5” by 16.5” (49.5cm by 41.9cm), and can safely hold about 44lbs (20kg) thanks to the strong polyester fabric and reinforced seams. The bags are waterproof, and the eco-friendly inks used on the bags (in a range of rich solid colors and attractive patterns) won’t run when the bag is washed. Envirosax bags are a great alternative to accepting plastic grocery bags whenever you go to the shop. The less plastic bags you use, the less there are to be found in the stomachs of sea turtles, wrapped around the heads of seabirds, or clogging drains and causing flooding. Did you know that due to the chemical nature of standard plastic grocery bags they never decompose? Did you also know that a single Envirosax bag can hold 2 of these grocery bags worth of goods, and so could save the environment from hundreds or even thousands of plastic bags every year. Belinda and Mark David-Tooze, a couple committed to sustainable living and minimizing human environmental impacts, founded Envirosax in 2004. This commitment is evident in their own lifestyle, as well as their clever bag design. The David-Toozes live off the grid, using photovoltaic cells for their electricity needs, water collected from rain-tanks, and they grow their own organic fruit and vegetables on their rainforest property. Proceeds from Envirosax are used to support conservation groups such as the Australian Marine Conservation Society, the Surfrider Foundation and the Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society of New Zealand. |

Not just for groceries October 28, 2008 I was looking for something to use for non-grocery shopping when I found the envirosax. It is nice to have a large bag that can fit in a purse when at a mall. They are easy to use, fold and store and they hold quite a bit. They also have great prints. They are a little pricey, but would make a wonderful and environmentally-friendly stocking stuffer.
Terrific product! Absurdly wasteful shipping! October 8, 2008 I love these reusable shopping bags!
They roll up so small that I can go out with one in my pocket for spur-of-the-moment purchases. The handy pouch keeps all the bags together at home and makes taking along the whole bunch for a bigger round of shopping a breeze.
They look great, both in graphic design and quality of the material. The strap is long enough to carry groceries home over my shoulder, though the material is a bit slippery--over smoother shirts and jackets the strap slides a bit (but a minor reservation).
I'm amazed at how much volume these bags contain. So far I've been conservative in how much weight I've put in them, but I suspect they'll be good for moderately heavy purchases.
But shame on the shipping! This wonderful, environmentally friendly product came in a gargantuan cardboard box many times its size, filled with packing materials. A soft item like this could have been shipped in a small padded envelope. Here I am trying to go green and the wasteful shipping will counteract much of the conservation effects of this wonderful product.
Amazon, please look at the way green products are shipped and do your part!
sure beats plastic! October 3, 2008 I love these bags! Tidy, handy, durable...reusable! I have been using mine for over a year now and they look and perform like new. I do take the time to fold them (according to the printed instructions!) after each use so they are always ready to go (I keep mine in the console of my car - I live in the burbs so I can't walk to any stores). Be prepared for questions at the supermarket...everything from where did you get these to how am I supposed to fill this floppy thing! Just keep an eye on how the bagger fills them -- they hold a lot and can be made too heavy.
I need more of these, actually! September 7, 2008 I love these. The colors and designs are fun, I always get great comments when I whip these out while shopping, and the best part is that they WORK!
I buy about $150 worth of groceries for one month in one trip and I can always fit non-clunky items (everything that isn't a gallon of milk or vinegar, soda, etc.) in these bags. They hold a LOT! And they're sturdy enough to do it without giving you a second thought in regards to their durability. I can fit five cereal boxes into one bag, no stress.
Wonderful product, folds and rolls up into an easy to store little bundle, and very well constructed.
Great product! July 30, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is an extremely well made product, and I especially love the way it rolls up easily to fit in a purse or pocket with no "stuff sack" to misplace. The only reason it got 4 stars instead of 5 is that it's made in China - however, the company says on their website that, "In the factory where Envirosax are manufactured there is NO child labour...We personally inspect our factories in China...Our factory manager obeys the Labour Laws of China and pays fair wages and maintains safe clean working conditions." This is about as good as you're going to get for a product made in China. Highly recommended.
