The cold, wet, and wind are put to shame by this parka. Its nylon shell is waterproof, windproof and fully seam-sealed. Wicks moisture to up the comfort level. Good, Not Great, Coat November 25, 2008

I've had my coat now for a month and so far it's an okay, not great, coat.
The "parka" part of the name is a bit of a misnomer in that it's not a traditional parka. In fact, there is not all that much insulation inside the coat and practically none on the sleeves. Now, with that being said, it is VERY wet weather resistant. Just be sure to wear some layers underneath if the temperature is going to be lower than 40-45F as otherwise you'll be shivering. If it's that cold or colder I typically wear some sort of sweat shirt or similar item underneath.
Pros:
Very water and wind resistant. You feel NO wind through the fabric of this coat!
Lots and lots of pockets both inside and out.
The detachable hood is the best I've seen on a coat of this type and is double layered to help with head heat retention.
Cons:
It's not a parka, more like an outer shell with minimal insulation lining.
Overall I'm happy with my purchase but if I had it to do over again I probably would have gone with either a different Eddie Bauer coat or gone with another brand that offered better cold weather protection. I'm used to wearing layers as that is what I did with the coat this one replaced so for me it's not a big deal but I can see it being one for others.
