Product Description
BioShock is the "genetically enhanced" first person shooter that lets you do things never before possible in the genre: turn everything into a weapon, biologically mod your body with plasmids, hack devices and systems, upgrade your weapons and craft new ammo variants, and experiment with different battle techniques in an incredible and unique underwater city. You are a cast-away in Rapture, an underwater Utopia torn apart by civil war. Caught between powerful forces, and hunted down by genetically modified ?splicers" and deadly security systems, you have to come to grips with a deadly, mysterious world filled with powerful technology and fascinating characters. No encounter ever plays out the same, and no two gamers will play the game the same way. BioShock is loaded with some of greatest, most modifiable weapons to ever blast their way into a shooter. But guns alone won't be enough to defeat the devious AIs of Rapture. There are literally hundreds of other strategies players can use to take out his enemies. Here's just a few things you can do a foe: Brainwash Him to Become Your Personal BodyGuard Invent your own Ammo Types to Prey on his Vulnerabilities Turn his own Security System Against Him Light Him on Fire and Launch Heat Seeking Missiles At him Torment Him with Plagues of Insects Take Research Photos of Him to Learn his Weaknesses Send Him Flying into the Ceiling to Knock him Senseless

5 out of 5 stars Incredible   January 8, 2009
Just might be the best game I have ever played. It is smart, innovative, scary and just plain fun. You have to experience it for yourself...you basically owe it to yourself if you own a next gen consul.

5 out of 5 stars A Beginners Experience With BioShock   January 8, 2009
After not playing video games for many years(The first Ninetendo system was the last time I owned and played a system and games), I went out and bought a Xbox 360 system to keep me at home to save money on entertainment. One of the games I bought to play was "BioShock"BioShock (I thought the picture on the box looked cool). I also bought the game guide to walk me through it since basically, I'm a beginner. From the moment I first inserted the disc, I was hooked! The graphics are out of this world, and the storyline is really good. I liken it to reading a book and being able to interact with it. If you play it with headphones on and the lights out it will scare the hell out of you! It's nothing corny like Mario Bros. Because of the violence, and people, not monsters getting killed, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone under 18 years of age. When you start playing, take your time to explore and enjoy the scenery. You'll be glad you did.
Two thumbs up!

2 out of 5 stars come on!   January 1, 2009

I reviewed this game along time ago before I had even played it, but I only reviewed it to explain my hatred for fps games. Since then I have fallen in love with fps games and have purchased around 50 including bioshock. So far I have played through four levels and I must start by saying that this game has beautiful graphics and somewhat decent gameplay. To me though, those are the only aspects of the game worthy of a decent mention. Their are just to many annoyances in the game to be fun for along time, such as having to hack everything in the game unless you want to use a big chunk of money, which you don't usually have to begin with. Oh, and the biggest annoyance is that health packs are kind of hard to come by considering that you pretty much have to buy them, but you need to choose not to because you will start right back over anyways if you die, however you will have the same amount of ammo as when you died, hence the reason to buy ammo instead of health! If thats not annoying enough for you then just add on some spawning enemies to go along with the scarce ammo and health and it's a real blast! More like a shotgun blast of tedious to the face! The graphics are really good however it is the same friggin thing over and over again. Don't get me wrong, with every level there is a different room design but everything is bland looking and you see the same colors over and over. Why do this, especially on a system that has the capability of pulling off any environment one can think of. If you didn't like halo then you may like this game and vice versa, but I do not see what the hype is all about with either one of the series. I am sticking to the basic fps shooters for now on like cold winter for the ps2! At least you can blow the enemies heads off in that game!

5 out of 5 stars Bioshock Rules!   January 1, 2009
If your a fan of the Halo style games, you'll love Bioshock. The game is interesting, fun and will keep you entertained for weeks. I'm an older man and don't play many video games but enjoyed Halo. I was told that Bioshock was similiar and gave it a try when Amazon had it for sale at 24.99. Well I loved it. I was told by a Gamestop employee that it was one of the best games made, and he wasn't wrong.

4 out of 5 stars Bio Shock FPS   December 23, 2008
I have just started playing Bioshock, (on easy) and so far it's an excellent game. I've played all three Halo games and would rate the Halo series the ultimate FPS. Bioshock is deffinately a FPS, but adds puzzels, that are basically easy, to gain some extra credits in the game for ammo, food, etc. and in my opinion gives the player a chance to do a little thinking while in the course of the game. I'm playing Bioshock on a 60" screen and the details and sound are truely spectacular. I got the X-Box 360 game over the PS3 game because it was selling for less. The game does use some foul language, so just be advised.
