Great Value December 27, 2008 I wear these daily, in tan and black color, to work under sandals. They look quite sophisticated / good quality (definitely much more than 50c a pair!). Durability is good, especially for the price (I have worn each at least twice and out of the 40 knee-highs (20 pairs) I have, only two so far have a run - not bad) When my toes are covered, the skin colored (tan) one is invisible. I think these are just awesome value. I have always worn them under trousers that hit my heel, but I think they will look nice on calf / ankle length trousers as well. The elastic seems durable and reasonably comfortable, although once in a while, I get a red band on my skin. I think the key is to make sure that you pull it enough so that it hits the knee (not calf) and this problem seems to reduce.
Great knee-highs for the price December 3, 2008 These are great for the price, though I wouldn't say they are the best available. Here's my breakdown:
Pros: -Very inexpensive -Generally comfortable -They stay up all day -Nude and tan both look great (haven't tried the others yet)
Cons: -Toe seam can be annoying (as with all hose) and refuses to stay on top of foot -Last an okay amount of time when washed in delicates bag, but don't do well when washed without
Given the low price and the relative comfort, I'd choose these over pricier knee-highs any day. I recommend them to any price-conscious buyer looking for a decent set of hose.
Perfect for work November 19, 2008 I love these knee highs for work. Not too tight, not too lose, nice nude color without being shiny at all. Cheap enough that it doesn't bother me if I lose one of they get runs. Already on my second pack.
Excellent value September 21, 2008 Like the other users pointed out, this is definitely a great buy! The material feels great on my feet. I have thrown them into the washing machine and just air dry them for a few times now, and they are still working.
Great product and they work well..here's a trick to try to keep them working longer June 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These knee highs are great. To make them last here's a trick I was told about many years ago. It actually works with any nylons that a person would wear. Take them out of the bag. Soak them with cool water to get them just really soppy and that takes a little effort as they don't absorb water really well at that point so make sure they are soppy wet before you proceed further. Take them soppy as they are and put them in a plastic bag, several bags actually so they are totally/completely protected by the bag. This is while they are still soppy wet. Now put them in the freezer. And yes you read that correctly. Put them in the freezer. Leave them in there for about 24 hours until they are rock hard. Now take them out and sit them in a spot to thaw and let them thaw out by themselves; do nothing to help the thawing process. This takes about a day of thawing. When they are thawed and soppy wet, take a towel and dry them. Now put them somewhere to dry naturally. As a rule never put them in a dryer. Always let them dry naturally. Hand wash gently with something like ivory liquid dish soap when using them and wash gently after each day's use. Treat them kindly and gently. The freezing process makes them last longer. I won't go into it further as to why but it works. Nylons last about 10 times longer via this process I just described. "No nonsense" is a great brand. You can use this "freezing process" for any kind of nylons and probably any brand. It works for making nylons of any brand last longer. Never put them in a dryer as you'll kill your nylons and make them run faster via the heat. Hand wash always makes them last longer too. Machine wash makes them run faster also. The freezing process really saves the budget.
