Not comfortable November 27, 2008 continuously bunched up, uncomfortable... thought it would be much more comfy - it is for pregnant women after all!
Most useful product for Mommy to be. November 25, 2008 Its amazing to see how well it holds up all my prepregnancy pants. After my first trimester I could not button my pants and was too exhausted to go and search for pants that would fit.I am into 21st week and had hard time finding trousers for work. one reason being I am short and maternity wear was either too long or uncomfortable at this stage. I just bought one size bigger pants(and skirts too) and use Bellaband to hold the lose and tight pants up.Its a must have and most important thing in my closet.
A great idea that just doesn't quite work... November 23, 2008 Every woman who's ever been pregnant has been faced with the dilemma of maternity clothes: To buy, or not to buy? In these financially challenging times, the temptation not to buy is very strong. And I wish I could report that the BellaBand is a solution to your first- and second-trimester wardrobe woes, but I can't.
I bought one as soon as I found out I was pregnant, and pretty soon I was putting it to use. But not for long. After a couple weeks of struggling, I put it in the closet and didn't use it again. When I got pregnant, I was no waif -- about a size 14 -- and I grew about 2 sizes in about 2 months. Maybe it works better for skinnier women, but on me, it just didn't cut it. It rolled down; it rolled up; it never felt secure. I always felt as if I were one false move away from my pants falling down. It was a real disappointment.
If you're reading this review with a baby on the way, you're probably wondering what I did do. Well, since properly-fitting maternity pants for non-skinny women are nearly impossible to come by, I learned how to make do. Since the BellaBand couldn't salvage my pre-pregnancy jeans, I sprang for 2 pairs of Gap jeans with an elastic top. Those were the only maternity clothes I found that fit. I'd never worn plus-sized clothes, but I discovered that 1X-2X plus-size clothes with elastic waists were nearly as good as correctly sized pregnancy clothes, and often much, much cheaper.
Sorry, zaftig ladies. I wish I had better news for you. Perhaps others have had better luck, but I can't recommend the BellaBand.
What a great idea! November 20, 2008 The bella band is a terrific product for pregnancy. My pre-pregnancy pants starting becoming uncomfortable around week 8. I'm now at week 14, and I've worn a band almost every day in between! I still prefer it to the few pairs of maternity pants that I have, as those are still a little bit loose. The best part is being able to breathe so easily.
The band stays in place, and it really does hold up unzipped pants very well. Right now I fold it in half, but I can definitely see wearing it fully expanded as I get bigger.
Does the trick, but not always comfortable, slips November 16, 2008 I bought several of these Bella Bands when I started outgrowing my normal (pre-maternity) clothes. I liked that I could still wear my favorite jeans a few months longer, but I must say that it wasn't very comfortable. And, at work (I have an office job), I get up and down from my desk all day and each time I stood up I needed to pull down the Bella Band because it would ride up when I was sitting. This makes for a slightly embarrassing moment at the office if anyone is watching me pull it down.
I've heard from other women talk about another product that you can buy where a panel zips in to your pants/jeans and buttons like your normal pants (but haven't found them myself). They say it's much more comfortable and I would have to guess that you don't have the problem of the panel needing to be adjusted every time you stand up.
