 Great for 15' Boston Whaler Super Sport (like description says) September 21, 2008
Replaced my two 20+ year old, 6-gallon metal OMC tanks with this single 12-gallon, tall profile Moeller tank. Moeller Boating Topside Fuel Tank (12-Gallon, Tall Profile) Bought locally at West Marine with Moeller (black) 1/4" NPT fuel connector. We tested fuel fitting installation before checkout. Paid slightly more than Amazon, Overtons, etc., but so far no leaks nor problems. Fits perfect between 15' Boston Whaler SS backrest storage compartment and transom (without any tie downs). Plan to use newly open center transom area to mount water separator to filter 10% ethanol gasoline. Highly recommend for Boston Whalers.
Excellent product August 25, 2008
I don't understand why the poor reviews. I just bought this tank and it does not leak at all. As for connecting it to a fuel line, you simply need the male fitting. I bought it for $5, and it connected the tank to the line with no trouble at all. The tank is heavy duty and yet small enough to fit on small boats. All around, a great product!
 The Great Fuel Connector Mystery July 3, 2008
Unlike any other portable tank on the planet, the pickup on this tank does not accept the standard 1/4" NPT male fitting. It won't accept any Moeller fuel connector, as all of theirs are 1/4" NPT. I have no idea what fitting it uses and no way to tell, so these two tanks are sitting unused in the closet.
Very Poor Quality June 30, 2008
The tank leaks around the the fuel gauge cap and the fuel line connector cap. They can't be tightened, I've tried. The plastic threads on the vent in the fill cap were stripped or just poorly made, so the vent can't be closed tightly enough to keep gas from leaking out, and I mean a lot of gas, when you lift the tank using the handle. I'll be talking to Amazon about a refund. Recommend you stay away from Moeller products, I will from now on.
