I didn't even realize at first that it came with a dvd. For reference the dvd is fine, but I much prefer the yoga series by Rainbeau Mars. The mat itself is very nice quality, and at 28wks pregnant it is standing up very well compared to off brand mats. I practice yoga nearly every day and I am very satisfied with this mat.

I got this item for $7 and change and couldn't be happier. It's 1/8" thick and nice and sticky. It's perfect for yoga. I'll be using it mostly for pilates but I have carpeted floors. I'm not sure if it would be thick enough for your back on a hard floor but it's a great mat. The mini dvd is only 15 mins. long so you can't really expect much of a workout. I'd call it a nice stretch or a warm-up for another dvd.

The quality of the mat is good but now that I use it regularly I wish it came with a strap or a bag. The free DVD is actually decent! It's short - just 15 minutes - but I've used it a few times in the morning or in conjuction with another exercise DVD.

I never imagined I'd be trying to do YOGA. I have absolutely no flexibility- even as a child I always failed the "sit-and-reach" physical exam tests. I tried this because Alison Davis is the lead in the Yoga Express mini DVD that comes with this yoga mat, and I thought she was great in the Ultimate Fat Burn DVD. The DVD is only 15 minutes long and is definitely for beginners, although still challenging. Once I get the hang of this one I will give The FIRM Slim Solutions Yoga for Beginners kit a try. I am using this as an introduction to YOGA and it's also great after a stressful day to get you relaxed to help you get a more restful sleep. The mat has a nice flowered pattern on it too.
