Amazon.com Review
This heavy-duty pressure cooker's large capacity is probably best utilized for canning (though it would also be great for a number of cooking tasks). A pressure cooker is generally recommended when canning vegetables and nonacid fruit, since the high heat that can be generated will kill more bacteria than a regular hot water bath. Made from cast aluminum, with sturdy screws to seal the lid to the pot, this pressure cooker requires no rubber or plastic gaskets or rings. Its 15-1/2-quart capacity holds 10 pint jars or 7 quart jars. A three-setting pressure regulator valve is included, and the pressure gauge gives a clear reading. Made in Wisconsin, this is an American classic. --Julija Gelazis

5 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC!   November 16, 2008

We put the canner through it's paces the first week, doing over 100 jars of canned beef. It worked perfectly, was wonderful!

5 out of 5 stars Pantry Stocked!   November 9, 2008
This arrived and I thought I had purchased a science project, then fell in love with it, my pantry is stocked, it brought back good times of pouring over recipes to can and we make a weekly habit of going to Farmers Market in Dallas, which is only down the road. Everyone should have one.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Pressure Canner   October 31, 2008
There is no comparison in quality between the All-American brand and other pressure canner brands. If you plan to do any serious pressure canning, this is the best choice you can make. I am very pleased with this product and I have used it successfully on my glass top range without issue. If you have a glass top range, just take a little extra care not to drop or land the cooker down hard and you'll have no problems.

5 out of 5 stars extremely pleased with this pressure cooker/canner   October 18, 2008
I heard that this was the best built canner I'd find - and I'm very happy with how it works. In fact, at the end of my canning frenzy, I chose to pressure can my catsup and barbeque sauce instead of water bath canning it! It's so easy and so precise - time wise. The manual was very easy to follow and for the consumer who has more questions... their customer service number puts you in touch with knowledgeable service reps. I can find nothing to complain about! What a quality piece of workmanship!

5 out of 5 stars Very pleased with the All-American Canner   September 29, 2008

I spent a lot of time reviewing canners before I bought the model 815.
We've used it three times already and are extremely pleased with it.
We we're a bit concerned about a unit with no rubber seal, but after the first use (very slight steam leakage which was predicted in the directions), it has sealed completely on each use. The directions are very clear and accurate. The only down side is that when it is ready to be drained it is a bit heavy for my wife to handle. But it's weight, in my opinion, is also an indication of the quality of the product. I would strongly recommend this pressure cooker/canner.
